Andrew would have failed the Turing test before he fell out the window, because while sir was telling Andrew goodnight he didn’t understand the meaning of someone telling him to have a goodnight Andrew responded by saying it is a goodnight indeed, instead of saying goodnight back. Thus sets up Andrew to respond correctly, when Amanda told him to jump out the window he was damaged and could not speak properly, then a few days later little Miss ask Andrew to follow her and he questions as to whether or not there was a window involved. I believe that before he fell out the window he was as intelligent as he was after he fell out the window because he inquiries about a lot of different things more than he before.

A Robot should be considered an appliance; after all it is only a computer, which can move freely, well when told to do so. “Alive” means something is breathing, and has a will of their own; the appliance was just made to personify human qualities. This particular aspect is targeted throughout the movie, on weather or not Andrew seemed fit to be a human or not is whole body was made up of artificial organs.
